OCT 27 – DEC 18   8-WEEK CLASS SCHEDULE

Below are 8-week courses that BMS will be offering weekly over our next session. Whether you are a beginner eager to build creative techniques or an experienced artist seeking to expand your creative repertoire, these courses provide the inspiration and technical know-how to bring your sculptural ideas to life.

FROM THE NECK UP ( 3 MIXED MEDIA PORTRAITS)

MONDAYS     7-10PM    $300

This 8-week course explores the topic of the human head, covering elements of portraiture in clay, as well as mystical, interpretive and abstract approaches in cement and mixed media. Students will work from a model for 3 sessions in clay as well as mixed media and direct cement. Materials included. Beginners welcome

FIGURE SCULPTING  IN CLAY FROM THE MODEL

AM   TUES  10-1pm     $325

This 8-session course utilizes  2 model poses. Students will learn and practice the fundamental steps to successfully create a figure in clay through observational techniques and creative choices. Special attention is paid in developing a personal approach to figure modeling, utilizing the model referentially as well as observationally. 1st bag clay included

STUDIO LAB: GUIDED JOURNEYS IN SCULPTURE

 TUES 7-10  / WED  7-10pm  / THURS   10AM-1PM  $285

These 8-class sessions are designed to celebrate self-direction with expert support, emphasizing creative experimentation with mentorship. It is ideal for those who are developing a personal approach and want direct feedback related to their ideas and processes that do not require model sessions. It can be any material or approach the studio facilitates, including clay.

 NEW  STUDENT PORTFOLIO JAM

TUESDAYS -4-6PM   $300

If you know anyone who is interested in going to Art School or building a portfolio, this is the course for them! Join us for an eight -week preparation course, including assistance w drawing, 3D printing,  design and sculpture works. 5 pieces will be completed for portfolio Inclusion. Coaching in the application process and writing components to successfully apply to competitive schools are included as well. All supplies included

 OCT-DEC WORKSHOPS

EXTRA HELP & FINISHING SESSION

FRIDAY OCT 1OTH   7-11PM

Have unfinished projects from past classes that you want to have help with?  Need to finish painting a fired sculpture? Or repair or reassemble an existing work?  Come to the extra help Friday night finishing session to resolve any unfinished issues with existing projects

 BASES, MOUNTS AND PRESENTATION FORMATS

(DAY CHANGE) SUNDAY OCT 19    10-4pm            $125

In this one-day workshop, students will learn to create and construct base types in wood, concrete, found objects and metal for existing and future sculptural works.

Additionally, students will also be instructed on how to successfully mount their sculptural pieces for exhibition display purposes and installations, all materials and lunch included.

HALLOWEEN FARMHOUSE SKETCH/ PUMPKIN CARVING DAY

SATURDAY OCT 25TH   (CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS ). $175

Based on the success of our annual Spring Farmhouse Drawing Day, our 1ST Fall Halloween Farmhouse Drawing /Carving Day will be on Saturday October 25 noon-9pm.  Join us for a fun day of pumpkin carving and sketching festive spooky decor and farm animals, while enjoying  a 4pm full farm dinner bonfire side. The day will include pumpkin, handouts, demos, and  materials with access to The Good Place Farm.

TWO-DAY SOFT PLASTER CARVING

SATURDAY & SUNDAY NOV 15-16TH 7TH 10-4 PM LUNCH INCLUDED  $185

Come enjoy an introductory course in simple carving utilizing a soft dry Hydrocal  block to create a dynamic piece in the round without the aggravation that comes with harder materials. Students will complete a carved, sanded and color/waxed piece over the weekend.  Makes a great gift!

DRAWING OFFERINGS

HALLOWEEN DRAWING EVENT

FRIDAY OCT. 31st  7-10PM  $ 65

Teaming up with neighborhood events Blue Merle Studios will be offering a spooky  shadow drawing session, utilizing a live model  screened roll-up doors, fog and lighting. Easels, drawing tables and supplies will be set up outside in the parking lot in front to allow for the doors to be utilized as a stage. Come join us! We will also have delectable Halloween treats and beverages.

WHITE ON BLACK DRAWING REFLECTION & SHADOW

FRIDAY NOV 7TH 7-10PM MODEL INCLUDED  $65

Come explore an evening of drawing, utilizing white media on a dark ground. This drawing session will be held in darkness, utilizing one light source to explore shadow, contour and proportion of the human body. All material included.

10  EASY STEPS TO BETTER DRAWING

FRIDAY NOV 14H 7-10PM $35

Learn the 10 vital steps in creating a better still life drawing utilizing  composition, rendering and perspective in conjunction with other drawing principles over the course of the evening, all materials and drawing supplies provided

INTRODUCTION TO PORTRAIT DRAWING

FRIDAY NOV 21st      7-10pm          $65

This  3 -hour comprehensive introduction to portrait drawing will enable students to understand the fundamental proportions and alignments of the face and neck, relevant to both sculpture and drawing. This workshop will complement clay portrait modeling as well, incorporating the same approaches to proportions  while employing drawing techniques covered in this evening session.  All materials and model included    

THE FIGURE IN WIND DRAWING SESSION

FRIDAY DEC 5th  7-10pm    Model included.    $65

Come explore a dynamic drawing session with a live model, drapery, and lots of wind to create moody drawings that are affected by air flow and movement.

SATURDAY NOV 8TH 1-5PM   $90

Come, join us for an afternoon of mixed media ornament making utilizing everything from polymer clay to mold-making, metal, wood, paper and beading etc etc. Participants will create up to three unique ornaments, appropriate for gift giving.  Snack and beverages included

HAND PAINTED SCARVES

SATURDAY NOV 22nd     1-4pm.  $85

Come sip a beverage and enjoy a relaxing afternoon hand painting 3 silk scarves utilizing a variety of methods and techniques. All materials and refreshments included. Make 3 fabulous gifts!

FUN AND SIMPLE GIFT SOAP CASTINGWORKSHOP

SATURDAY DEC  6TH 1-5PM          $95

Come, join us for a fun filled day, creating gift soaps, utilizing molds, colors fragrances, and  natural additives. Students will also wrap soaps in festive gift wrapping. Supplies included
