WEEKEND ADULT WORKSHOPS
Below is a list of our weekend workshops for 2026-2027. All workshop participants 16 and over are welcome to continue to complete started workshop projects in the studio free of charge if needed after workshop time is over. These unique workshops are great for portfolio building for art schools and personal growth, so we always want to be able to support completing a project.
We also have free finishing sessions listed below if you need help implementing a final look to any of your projects.
finishing sessions- open to all
Have several projects lingering around that have not been completed yet but you are not in a class to complete the finishing touches? Utilize these finishing class times to tie up loose ends on previous work and bring that work in for painting, repairing, mounting etc. Help with most painting, staining, sealing, repairing and mounting with most supplies provided.

FALL 2026- MAY 2027 WEEKEND WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
FAST ROAD TO ABSTRACTION workshop
SATURDAY OCTOBER 17 1-5pm $95
This 4 hour custom workshop is designed to provide a variety of techniques, strategies and tools to successfully move into abstracted forms using a logical approach, preferences and goals. Over the 4 hours, students will discuss, analyze, plan and experiment with the language of abstraction and create a smaller starter piece to move forward from. Materials provided as well clay firing and finishing class opportunities.
SCULPT IT MOLD IT CAST IT
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7 10-5 (Sunday 11-4 optional) $165
This full day workshop covers the introductory processes of sculpting a small simple object to be cast. The workshop includes mold-making techniques and casting of parts in a variety of materials, as well as utilizing a variety of appropriate finishes. One fast paced day! with optional Sunday work session. Great for making ornaments and small gifts. Materials included
FIELD TRIP -MARTIN PURYEAR EXHIBITION AT THE HIGH MUSEUM
WEDNESDAY NOV 18 11- 3pm Free with reservation
Spend the afternoon experiencing, examining and discussing the large-scale works of sculptor Martin Puryear at the High Museum. We will meet at Blue Merle and commute using Marta over to the High where we will explore the artist’s approaches, materials and concepts for a lively discussion together as a group.
hardscaping screening workshop
SATURDAY Dec 12 1-5 pm w Sunday optional extra worktime 11-4pm $ 110
In this one-day workshop, students will learn to design and construct a piece of wall art that consists of canvas, screen, plaster gauze and spackle, utilizing sanding and painting techniques to create organic flowing designs for a variety of applications including lighting and mosaic. Most materials included.
Slinging beads holiday earring workshop
SATURDAY Dec 19 1-5pm $50
Come enjoy a beverage and good company for the afternoon, designing and creating an endless variety of fashionable earrings to tie up the holiday gift giving season.

SATURDAY JAN 16th 1-5pm $75
Come, spend a fascinating day, working with compilations of materials, and how they work together to communicate. In this course students will understand the variety of ways to bring materials together successfully visually as well as technically to make unique, interesting and dynamics objects. Some materials provided. Bring your junk drawer!
SOFT PLASTER CARVING 2 day intro
SATURDAY & SATURDAY FEB 6-7 1-5pm $ 150
Come enjoy an introductory course in simple carving utilizing a soft dry plaster block to create a dynamic piece in the round without the aggravation that comes with harder materials. Students will complete a carved, sanded and color/waxed piece over the 2 sessions.
INTRO TO CLAY PORTRAIT SCULPTING 1 DAY
SATURDAY March 13 th 10-4 SUPPLIES / LUNCH INCLUDED $175
Come spend a full day learning how to sculpt the human head with a live model. Students will learn the basic proportions of the head, face and neck, working with an armature and will have a fired clay piece that they will finish at a second finishing class time that is included. Beginners always welcome. No experience necessary. Includes finishing class
Hand painted scarfs
SATURDAY April 10th 1-5pm $85
Come enjoy a relaxing afternoon hand painting silk scarves utilizing a variety of traditional and nontraditional methods and techniques. All beginners welcome. From hand painting, multi media to Batik, get a jump start on 3 gifts for special friends as well! All materials provided.
